After completing his Master’s Degree in Tamil Literature from Pachaiyappa's College, Chennai, he obtained his Ph.D. on the "Songs of the Tribal People in Salem District" from the University of Madras. The author of this book, Dr. C. Natesan was born in 1943 in Akkamapettai Village of Salem District. After completing his Master’s Degree in Tamil Literature from Pachaiyappa's College, Chennai, he obtained his Ph.D. on the "Songs of the Tribal People in Salem District" from the University of Madras. 
He conducted the research on the “Tamil Community” in Chennai and Salem Districts along with Dr. Mattison Mines, Professor & renowned Social Anthropologist, University of California, USA, from 1967 to 1969; and 1978 to 1980. He had also carried out significant studies on Spirituality. He was a Member of the Trichy - All India Radio Folk Tamil Music Artists Selection Committee.
 He has published many Devotional Books and Audio Music Songs in Tamil language. He has 33 years of teaching experience as Tamil Professor and Head of Department in Government Arts Colleges and retired from the service in 2001. Presently, he is writing Tamil Devotional songs/poems.
