Dr. Antarjeeta Nayak is a Researcher and a Columnist, a Ph.D in Economics from National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. She is the recipient of ICSSR Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Fellowship. Her research areas include poverty and development, psycho-socio-economic and cultural assessments of the individual to address several social concerns related to health, education, children, women and environment, and to understand an individual or an issue from a holistic perspective. Her research areas include poverty and development, psycho-socio-economic and cultural assessments of the individual to address several social concerns related to health, education, children, women and environment, and to understand an individual or an issue from a holistic perspective. Dr. Nayak is deeply immersed in independent tribal research and exploring the developmental perspectives of the tribals. Her research has led to numerous impactful articles on tribal issues, regularly featured in the esteemed Odia dailies. Dr. Nayak has showcased her work on national and international platforms, earning widespread recognition through several research publications. Notably, her groundbreaking study on “Tribal School Dropouts” garnered the prestigious International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD) Grant in 2022, presented in Spain.

She has written an English book titled “Poverty: By Chance or By Choice” delving deep into the human psyche to understand why the poor are poor through intriguing case-studies. She has also written Odia books titled “ମନ କଥା” (“Mana Katha”) where she had tried to come up with several social problems, their causes and had also tried to put up some possible solutions to combat those. Her second Odia book “ପରୀକ୍ଷାର ପରୀକ୍ଷା” (“Parikhyar Parikhya”) discusses about the Indian Education System and the examination process and how it is creating human machines instead of building good human beings for a better future, "ମୁଁ ବଡ଼ ହେଲେ ଆଦିବାସୀ ହେବି…" (“Mun Bada Hele Adivasi Hebi”) which serves a powerful medium to awaken the world to the invaluable contributions of Adivasis—highlighting their rich heritage, enduring identity, and profound role in shaping a sustainable future. Her Odia novel "କୁସୁମ:ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାର ଅବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାରେ ଆଦିବାସୀ" ("Kusum : Byabasthar Abyabastha re Adibasi" ) narrates the heart wrenching tale of a poor tribal father and mother navigating the harsh inequities imposed by the system meant to uplift them. Her writings are noteworthy, offering valuable insights and suggestions for reshaping policies to promote sustainable development. Besides this, she has also written ten captivating books for children designed to support children's developmental needs, transforming learning into an enjoyable and interactive experience, based on practical needs of a child in his/her primary periods of development and learning.
