Kazim Naqvi has thirty-five years of experience in Industrial R&D as a consultant scientist. He has worked in India, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Malaysia. He retired a couple of years ago and now resides in Lucknow with his wife.

Science and technology have developed to a level today where it is possible to provide food, shelter, education, employment, clothing and healthcare to each and every citizen of our Earth many times over; yet more than two-thirds of humanity lives in abject misery and poverty, not knowing where the next meal is going to come from. Millions of innocent children die of hunger and diseases that are easily curable. Insatiable hunger for profits of the ruthless ruling elites and corporate greed is responsible for this unimaginable depravity. This nonsense must be challenged and stopped.
Thousands of Muslims have been brutally murdered in my country, in State-sponsored communal violence, since Independence. This has been a cause of deep pain and anguish to the poet and has resulted in many poems in this collection.
