Lowangcha Wanglat

Lowangcha Wanglat hails from the royal family—known as the “Choopha”—of Namsang-Borduria. He became a student activist in 1969. Nominated as the chairman of the NEFA Students’ Union by the JN College Students’ Union for holding the first general conference at Pasighat, Doingomin Hall, to change the nomenclature from NEFA Students’ Union to All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union. During the Nocte Naga migration from Yunnan Province they were followers of Theravada Buddhism.  1961 census reported some Buddhist among the Nocte Naga of Tirap Frontier Tract.
