Although she kept a journal since her 12th birthday, a writer, the most natural thing to her, was not part of her career plans. After her son Viyan was born, she had an idea for a children’s book series. This idea still lives in the archives for now. It was after her daughter Samara’s birth that she decided to write a story. A timeless gift that she could leave for them both. That story, which started off as The Adventures of Viyan and Samara, weaved a world of its own.
Prinisha hopes that The Guardians of Earth can help those who may be as lost as Samara. That the book creates representation through all its characters and that children of colour can identify with heroes who look like them. But most of all, in dreams of a unified global culture, she hopes that the book can inspire and stir imaginations with the realisation of the endless possibilities that could exist in our glorious world.
