Debajit Deb was born in Silchar, Assam and grew up in the atmosphere of many tribal languages. He has a Master of Philosophy in ‘The Phonology of Rongmei Naga Spoken in Barak Valley’ and a doctorate degree on ‘A Morphosyntactic Study of Rongmei Spoken in Barak Valley’ from Assam University, Silchar.
