Born on April 23, 1953, Gautam Gan grew up in a joint family, surrounded by grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins, in a household that gave importance to culture and literature.After graduating from St Paul’s College with honors in English Literature, Gautam started his career in 1974 at Grindlays Bank, even as he pursued an MA from Jadavpur University.Gautam spent thirty-five years in the banking sector across ten major banks in the private sector (both Indian and foreign banks).
