Kavita Kiran is known in Urdu literature of Hyderabad as a poetess who comes from a different language and culture. Her father had a very vast social circle which influenced the ambience of her house and gave it a very mixed cultural touch. Urdu was not new to Kavita, but her writing poetry in Urdu surprised her family and friends. Kavita Kiran is known in Urdu literature of Hyderabad as a poetess who comes from a different language and culture. Her father had a very vast social circle which influenced the ambience of her house and gave it a very mixed cultural touch. 
Urdu was not new to Kavita, but her writing poetry in Urdu surprised her family and friends. Later she learnt the Urdu script while preparing for her first book Pahechaan under the guidance of eminent writer and poet Salauddin Naiyar Sahab. She was inspired by writer Padma Shree Jeelani Banu; they were neighbours and family friends. Raj Bahadur Gaur Sahab was a good friend of her father’s. He encouraged her and was an admirer of her ghazals. Naushaad Sahab, a legendary music director of the Hindi film industry, wrote a letter to her after reading her books. It was a great honour for her.
 
She was so comfortable with her family that she carried her writing work with ease and also completed B.A and later did LL.B from Osmania University. Her books are Pahechaan (1989), Saughat (1992), Nawazish (1994) and Aashna (1996).
