इस जहान में जहाँ हर इंसान जीवन की आपा-धापी में खोया खुद से दूर महसूस करता है, यह संरचना उन सब के लिए इस जीवन रूपी मरुस्थल में एक नख़लिस्तान की तरह है। यह शायर के अंदर के शोर, द्वन्द, और उस से निकलने की कोशिश को बखूबी बयान करती है। यह एक सफ़र है, जहां कहीं शायर एक पेचीदा इंसान नज़र आता है, तो कहीं एक रूमानी आशिक़, जो हक़ीक़ी और फ़लसफ़े के बीच में उलझा महसूस करता है। यूँ तो इस संरचनात्मक प्रति के शब्द लेखक के दिमाग़ की उपज हैं मगर यह एक आशिक़ के दिल का फ़साना, या यूँ कहें कि शायर के दिल के ऐसे अनमोल लम्हे हैं जो हरदम समय से परे कहीं देखने की ख्वाहिश रखते हैं। यद्यपि यह कृतियाँ शायर के पच्चीस सालों के सफ़र और उस में हासिल किए तजुर्बों का गुलदस्ता है, मगर हर पढ़ने वाले के लिए इनके माने अलग हो सकते हैं। यह शायर के ख़्वाबों का आईना है, उसको पाने की जुस्तजू है, इस जीने और मरने के द्वन्द से निकलने की कोशिश है।

शायर यह आशा करता है कि यहाँ संकलित ग़ज़लें, नज़्में और कविताएँ ना सिर्फ़ आपके जीवन में घटित लम्हों का आईना बनेंगी अपितु आपके दिल और दिमाग़ में उपजे सवालों का जवाब भी बनेंगी।

Ludhiana-born Maneek Kumar alias Manu, a Civil Engineering Professor by profession and a poet by heart, considers himself as a ‘Patialvi' since he has spent 33 golden and vibrant years of his life in Patiala. His journey at Thapar Institute commenced as a student of Civil Engineering in the year 1987 and continued when he joined as a faculty member in the year 1993. Maneek completed his schooling from Kundan Vidya Mandir Ludhiana and joined Arya College for his pre-engineering studies. He has been committed to the cause of higher education since the past thirty years and has played a vital role in the lives of countless students, be it at Thapar Institute, D.I.T. University or at the B.M.L. Munjal University. His students fondly address him as 'Maneek Sir'. 
Although a technocrat by calling, Maneek’s association with the creative world of poetry is a rare but beautiful coincidence. He dabbled in poetry quite often and got the inspiration of publishing his poetic musings from his friends and specially, his wife Aarti, with whom the poet often used to share his creations.
 
At present, Maneek Kumar is following his passion of teaching and academic administration as the Dean of Engineering in BML Munjal University, Gurugram Haryana. He is living in Gurugram with his wife, Aarti, and their children, Sidharth and Vrinda. Along with writing poems, Maneek likes to play badminton, read books, and listen to and hum music, especially the ghazals of Gulzar Sahib and Jagjit Singh.
