Nirbhay was elected as the President of the All India Management Association (AIMA), the Bombay Management Association (BMA), the Association of Man-Made Fibre Industry of India (AMFI) and also served as President of the Photographic Association of India for two years..
He started taking a keen and active interest in the community welfare activities of the Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-Town since1977. Then in 1993, he established a charity named SKS Chakshu Foundation in the memory of his mother, starting with eye care in the rural areas in the Panvel Taluka (near Mumbai). It has now grown into a big tree – a large, professionally run charitable organization called ‘empowHER India Foundation’ with multiple activities to empower rural women. This has been Nirbhay’s greatest satisfaction in a long, eventful life.

Count Your Blessings, Realize Your Potential is a fruit of my long and enriching journey and a contemplation of the experiences I gained and the lessons I learnt. Sourced from my rich experiences, I have tried to provide timeless insights on how to live life to its fullest by unleashing one’s utmost potential.
All of us are always looking for meaning in our lives, and, by the grace of God, I found mine in gratitude and giving. By this book, I want to let people know how they can make use of their assets for society. ‘Asset’ is not always about wealth, rather it’s more about how you spend your time, impart your skills to others and focus on your health in the process. I have been able to use my long life and good health to benefit society as well as leave a legacy behind for our children, grandchildren and the rest of the family.
I hope that my short journey on this planet inspires and motivates you to strengthen your resolve to count your blessings, realize your full potential and give back to society to the maximum extent.
