यह कहानी एक लड़की की है जो आज भी इस आधुनिक समाज में उसी तरह हर समस्या का सामना करती है जैसे पहले की औरतें करती थी । कहने के लिए आज हम कहते हैं कि हम बहुत आधुनिक हैं परंतु हमारी सोच अब भी पुरानी रूढ़ीवादी रीति-रिवाजों में जकड़ी हुई है। आज भी यह समाज पुरुषवादी है पुरुष कितनी शादी कर ले कितने ही असामाजिक रिश्ते बना ले परंतु औरत को यह अधिकार नहीं है यदि वह अपने पति को छोड़ दे तो दूसरे मर्द चील कौवा की तरह उस पर झपट पढ़ते हैं। औरत को हमेशा सहारे की जरूरत होती है पहले पति और फिर बच्चे। हम बड़ी बड़ी बातें करते हैं लड़कियों को यह करना चाहिए लड़कियों को वह करना चाहिए लेकिन सिर्फ अपनी बेटियों के लिए जब बात अपनी पत्नी की आती है तो सब बातें भूल जाते हैं और उसे इतना मजबूर कर देते हैं कि वह कितनी ही काबिल हो परंतु सब छोड़-छाड़ कर सिर्फ एक घरेलू औरत बन जाती है। बिना किसी को बताए चोरी छुपे अपनी मर्जी की जिंदगी जी ले तो जी ले अन्यथा पता चलने पर उसे बेइज्जत करके घर से निकाल दिया जाता है और समाज भी उसे अपनाता नहीं है। क्या यह सही है?
