A postgraduate in English literature from Madras University and a certificate holder in Teaching English from CIEFL, Hyderabad, Saroja Muralikrishnan has worked closely with children in her capacity as a teacher and principal. With a 360-degree view of the holistic learning ability of children, she delved deep into the importance of reading skills for lifelong learning. With a firm belief in storytelling and reading as the most effective methods of promoting reading in children, she started writing Read Aloud stories for children to encourage them to question, debate and express themselves. Her interactions with her grandchildren who live abroad added a fillip to her passion for writing children’s fiction. This is her first book. Saroja Muralikrishnan now teaches English in a Nursery Teachers Training College in Kochi.
