Sushruti was a corporate lawyer with an international law firm in London before she quit to relocate to India last year, with many plan Bs and Cs, and in search of plan A. When in doubt, she has always turned to poetry. She’s a part of Delhi’s Poets’ Collective and can often be found performing at events like the Women Writers’ Festival and Feminist Poetry Festival. She is trained in poetry therapy and facilitates workshops incorporating art in education as well. As far back as she can remember, she has been writing and performing on platforms as diverse as dance festivals and All India Radio. She also has to her credit the National Bal Shree Honor for creative writing.
When not moonlighting as a poet or doing what lawyers do, Sushruti can be found drinking chai by her window ledge or learning a new dance form, depending on how lazy the day feels. She’s addicted to hope and swears by the inherent goodness of humankind. New people and conversations excite her and you can find her online @sushrutiwrites on Instagram.
