Manjulaa Shirodkar
Manjulaa Shirodkar (nee Negi) is a journalist with over 30 years of experience in the Indian mainstream media. She has worked as Assistant Editor with the Hindustan Times; as Sr. Editor in the Times of India and as News Editor with the Deccan Herald. Her articles and features on cinema, art & culture, books and interviews with celebrities have been published both in print and online in the Hindu, the Pioneer, the Asian Age and The Open Magazine.
Post her Masters in English from the University of Delhi, Manjulaa studied Film Appreciation from FTII, Pune. As a Film Critic, she has written extensively on Indian and International cinema, and been on the Preview Selection Committee (International Cinnema section) of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI, Goa) and other premier film festivals.
Get Out of Your Own Way is Manjulaa's second book. She has also authored a biography of Ismat Chughtai, the Urdu litterateur titled Ismat Chugtai: A Fearless Voice (2003, Rupa & Co).
