My view strongly advocates for the establishment of a dedicated facility management department within organizations. My view poses critical questions about the functions and benefits such a department brings, and conversely, the disadvantages an organization faces without one .
A dedicated FM department ensures that facilities are managed strategically, aligning with organizational goals and contributing to overall operational success. Without it, organizations risk operational inefficiencies, increased costs, reduced asset lifespan, and a negative impact on both employee productivity and customer experience .
In summary, my view analyzes the impact of facility management as a critical function that extends beyond mere maintenance, directly contributing to an organization's operational efficiency, the productivity and satisfaction of its employees, and the overall experience of its consumers or occupants . My work underscores the strategic importance of facility management in optimizing property value and organizational success.
