Various technologies were derived from sub branches of Entomology viz, agricultural entomology, medical entomology, forest entomology and veterinary entomology for the effective control/management of insect pest fauna. Fundamental knowledge with respect to insect morphology, anatomy and physiology is essential for proper management of deleterious insects. The science of insects is a dynamic field, which require periodical updation. Hence, knowledge on basic science viz., insect morphology, anatomy, physiology and taxonomy is essential for deciphering research on applied scientific principles like Integrated Pests Management, vector control and their diseases.

K. Devarassou has obtained his M.Sc.(Ag.) from P.J.N. College of Agriculture and Research Institute, Karaikal, U.T. of Poducherry, India. He has more than 11 years of teaching and 4 years of research experience. He had published two bookw and five research articles of International repute. He was honoured with Research Excellence Award for his contribution towards Integrated Pest Management, evolutionary ecology of Dinosaurs and formulation of a new technique known as "wet cloth wraping technique". He has also guided 24 grduate students for their research credit and published more 70 technical manuals pertains to Agricultural Entomology.
