Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalKarma Yoga is a spiritual path guiding us toward liberation of the soul. Yet, one of the most important features of the doctrine consists of its exposition concerning the ways and means through which to purify the mind and thereby achieve mental steadiness. And this book revolves essentially around this central aspect of the Karma Yoga doctrine. Drawing upon neuropsychological research in the last several decades, the Author tries to decode the neuropsychological significance underlying the means advocated by the doctrine for the purpose of achieving ‘Mental Steadiness’. Thus in the book, you will find answers to such crucial questions as:
v What is actually meant by the concept of ‘Bondage’ ,when translated in neuropsychological language?
v Why do actions performed with a desireful frame of mind have a ‘binding’ quality, while those performed desirelessly cease to have this binding quality?
v Why the point of abandoning the hope for fruit has been insisted upon so strongly?
The Author tries to answer these and such other questions from a neuropsychological viewpoint. Apart from this she also discusses the practical utility of this research as well as the implications it may have for the field of Positive Psychology.
With her research, the Author hopes to lay the foundation for the scientific validation of an exposition which has since time unmemorable found an immutable place in the religious and spiritual psyche of mankind.
