The theory of machines and Kinematics of mechanisms is an essential subject in the syllabus of many Universities and colleges in India, especially in Engineering and design. The efficient design of linkages, followers, gear trains and many others contributes to weight minimisation and energy loss reduction. It is a step towards sustainable manufacture. With the use of robotic machinery becoming commonplace in produciton it is necessary to reduce energy wastage in robotic assemby. This depends on the designer of the equipment. Although computer design tools can give a design, the understanding of the subject necesarily goes a long way. It is hoped the book is of use to students
