Mukta Chauhan
Born in 1966 and brought up in Lucknow, the city of Nawabs, Mukta Chauhan is a freelance writer and a poet. Her work has found space in national dailies and army journals. Married to an army officer, she got the opportunity to travel across the country, which helped her develop deep insight into people and cultures. Far from the madding crowd, the quiet cantonment life and her own meditative nature formed the perfect playground for deep analytical thinking. As an academician, adolescent counselor and Reiki healer, she has touched many lives.
Learning for her is an ongoing process. She was awarded a doctorate in Economics from Himachal Pradesh University. She also has degrees in Management, Mass Communication and Journalism.
Currently she lives in Shimla, the erstwhile summer capital of India with her husband and two daughters. Their ancestral home is a beautiful farmhouse situated in the heart of an apple orchard which provides the perfect stage to pen down her musings.
