Anjana Bindlish
Ms. Anjana Bindlish has a versatile personality. She is a cancer survivor with an M.Sc. in Counseling and Psychotherapy. She is also a gold medalist in Hotel Management from IHMCT&AN, Taramani, Chennai and a winner of the Anna Arignar Award and the Spencer’s Rolling Trophy.
She retired as Sr. Programme Manager, Transplant Authority of Tamil Nadu, in April 2017. She compiled two books during her time there – Brain Death for donor families and Protocols for an Organ Donation for medical professionals – as well as the FAQs for their website.
Presently, she is the owner/counselor/psychotherapist/registered alternative medical practitioner of a counseling and psychotherapy center. She is one of the very few gestalt therapists in India.
Her father had a kidney transplant in 1977, and the donor was her elder sister. The entire period left a deep impact on her. Her interactions with organ failure patients, especially children, created an urge in her to write a simple book for children to take their fears away. The natural flow of events and experiences in her life led to this book after her retirement.
