Sahidul Islam Choudhury, AFSANA PARVEEN
Sahidul Islam Choudhury is a dedicated teacher, author, and social worker. He is a permanent resident of Hailakandi, Assam. He completed his schooling from his hometown and passed Higher Secondary in the Arts stream from N.C. College, Badarpur.
He got admission to the prestigious Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and completed his B.A. Honours degree in English. Along with English, he also studied Modern Indian History and Linguistics as minor subjects. In 2019, he completed his M.A. in English from AMU with first class. He specialised in Post-Colonial Literature, Shakespearean Drama, African-American Drama, and Translation Studies. In the same year, he qualified the UGC NET exam for Assistant Professor in English.
Later, in 2021, he also qualified the Assam Higher Secondary TET (PGT) exam. At present, he is working as a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) for English at Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School, Silchar, Assam.
Sahidul Islam Choudhury is also an editor. He has edited the SUCCESS GUIDEBOOK series. These guidebooks are made for students of Assam University who study English Literature under the Four-Year UG programme.
He also teaches students who are preparing for CUET UG and PG in English. Besides this, he guides students who want to take admission in AMU and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) for UG and PG courses.
Apart from academics, Sahidul Islam Choudhury is active in social work. He is the founder of Udaan Education and Research Foundation, an NGO that helps poor and underprivileged students. Under this NGO, many projects like Udaan Super 40 Coaching, Project Ummed, Project Rahat, and Sir Syed Rural Library are running. He has also started campaigns like Books for All and Empowerment for All to spread education and awareness.
His work in both the fields of education and social service has inspired many young students. He continues to work for the betterment of society with dedication and passion.
