Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalSwim – It’s Fun is a gentle beginner’s guide for anyone who wants to learn swimming calmly, safely, and with confidence.
Designed for complete beginners, adult learners, and parents introducing children to swimming, this book breaks down swimming into simple, easy-to-understand steps. Through clear explanations and line illustrations, it covers essential fundamentals such as water safety, breathing, floating, balance, movement, and basic swimming techniques.
Rather than focusing on speed or athletic performance, the book emphasizes understanding the water and developing a natural “feel” for it. When learners understand how breathing, buoyancy, and movement work together, fear gradually fades and confidence grows.
Written by a lifelong swimmer and coach, this guide reflects years of practical experience teaching both children and adults. The approach is patient, respectful of water, and encouraging—helping learners progress at their own pace.
This book is intended to be used alongside supervised practice in safe swimming environments. Whether you are stepping into the water for the first time or returning after years, Swim – It’s Fun invites you to relax, learn gently, and enjoy the journey.

Srihari Subramanian
About the Author
Srihari Subramanian is a lifelong swimmer, endurance cyclist, and swimming coach with a deep respect for water and movement. He began swimming at a young age and later competed in Olympic-distance triathlons, racing at the national level for three consecutive years.
In 2014, he completed a challenging cycling expedition from Manali to Leh—an experience that strengthened his belief in patience, discipline, and working in harmony with nature. These principles strongly influence his approach to swimming and teaching.
Over the years, Srihari has coached both children and adults, helping beginners first understand water, breathing, and balance so they can feel safe, relaxed, and enjoy swimming naturally. He believes that when learners are comfortable and confident in water, efficient technique develops easily, and speed and performance follow with time and practice.
Inspired by the curiosity of his students and their parents, he wrote Swim – It’s Fun to offer a gentle and enjoyable foundation for learning swimming—one that supports long-term growth, skill development, and a lifelong love and respect for water and aquatic environments.
