The Night of 1982

Author Name: InBlack | Format: Paperback | Genre : Young Adult Fiction | Other Details

You could call Hazel Carston... DELUSIONAL, in a way.

Her world was perfect; no lies, no half-truths, no secrets, and no malice.

So how is it that these ideals start crumbling the moment she crosses paths with the enigmatic to-be actor, Cedric Bruning?

She starts seeing that there are secrets. There are bad people. There are half-truths. And there IS betrayal.

And they all lead down to the same root.

It all leads down to to what happened way before them. Retraces all the way back to the tragic events that happened one night in 1982. Back to their grandparents.

And maybe this reality. Something she realizes that has been hidden from her for a long time. That people can go to any lengths to get what they want. Like a Shakespeare play come to life.

So if she's Juliet and he's Romeo... will it end the same way or will they turn the tide?

That's up to them to decide.

InBlack

Hi, I'm InBlack, and I’m a storyteller.

This was my first ever venture into a full story, and I was 12-14 when I was writing it. There is so much more I've learned after that, but I'm excited to see my imperfect darling out in the world now!

Books, comics, films, music, animation, what have you—I’ve got my hands dirty in all these grounds, and this is just one of my ventures. I love stories because I love people. I see the whimsy in every day, and the things that slip past our eyes without our notice.

I’m a free-willed artist, and honesty is one of my core traits. I enjoy practicing guitar, thinking about philosophy, learning new things, and prolonged silence in the presence of music. I can spend hours a day pondering about stories and concepts, and nothing brings me more joy than to bring it to life.

These are the stories and ideas I love to write about. I believe it to be one of the most important experiences for anyone’s childhood, and in an era of digital media and constant confusion, I want to bring positive energy to the table. I want to inspire people to be confident, experimental, and unapologetically themselves.

I always say; when anyone asks you why, say, “Why not?”
