This critical treatise presents an analytical evaluation of Salman Rushdie’s fifth novel ‘The Moor’s Last Sigh’ published in 1995 which when intensely studied and interpreted seems to be almost a late sequel of Rushdie’s much publicized postcolonial classic ‘Midnight’s Children’. The novel is set in the Indian cities of Bombay, Cochin and the Spanish Alhambra dealing extensively with Indian history, politics, art and myth. The author has done a critical evaluation of the novel based on postcolonial theories propounded from the days of Edward Said to Bill Ashcroft.
