Our ex-president Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam once said: “Poetry comes from the highest happiness or the deepest sorrow” and hence, sorrow and happiness are the two angels of emotion. ‘The Voice of a Pen’ is the poet’s second poetical work comprising 32 poems and dealing with diverse themes. When a poet pens down his thoughts or emotions in a poem, sometimes they take him into the depth of hope and sometimes into the depth of hopelessness. Sometimes the poet undertakes a journey towards possibilities through impossibilities and sometimes towards impossibilities through possibilities. Sometimes he swims into the sea of sorrow and hides his tears in deep lamentation. But the poet’s pen never ceases to inspire him to write. The beauty of the words of the poet’s pen is imperishable and that’s why it is his true lover. The pen never betrays him but always keeps him alive even after the completion of the journey of his life. ‘The Voice of a Pen’ gives out such an ardent aroma that is more aromatic than the most of the fragrant flowers on the earth. This fragrance not only reaches the deepest part of the poet’s heart but also makes the readers’ soul aromatic. But this poetic perfume is not ephemeral like the fragrance of flowers. It makes the thoughts and emotions of a reader glittering for ever. The poet has tried to bring forth a tide of positivism into the thoughts of the reader through all the poems of ‘The Voice of a Pen’. It is hoped that all the poems will be enjoyable to them.

Biswanath Ghosh

Biswanath Ghosh, a poet, short story writer, linguist, columnist, novelist, playwright, academician, commentator and dynamic speaker, has a successful career in teaching English Literature. He has built a balanced healthy life and well-being on the back of 13 year teaching career. His deep and keen insight into the diverse themes of poetry has been catching the attention of the readers. In addition, he worked as a journalist. He attended innumerable educational conferences, symposiums and workshops organised by various educational institutes across the country. Mr Biswanath Ghosh holds M.A. degree in English and Journalism and Mass Communication. He enjoys reading, writing and singing. At present, he lives in Haridwar. His favourite pastime is travelling.
