D K Das is the former Director and Distinguished Scientist of the Space Applications Centre, ISRO, Ahmedabad. During his 37-year career at ISRO, he was involved in the development of over 30 Communication & Navigation payloads for the INSAT/GSAT and NavIC satellite series. He was a member of the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) and a member of the Space Communications and Navigation Committee (SCAN) of the International Astronautical Federation (IAF). In 2020, he chaired the Committee on Earth Observation Satellite (CEOS). After retiring in 2020, he served as the Vikram Sarabhai Professor of ISRO from 2021 to 2023. His hobby is birding and bird photography.
Praveen Bharadhwaj is former senior scientist with a 30-year career at ISRO, where he helped to develop hardware for communications satellites of the INSAT and GSAT programs. From his early days as a schoolboy experimenting with spark transmitters and coherers, to his later years as a licensed radio amateur building and operating home-built radio equipment for the shortwave bands, his interest in radio has been a lifelong passion. After his retirement from ISRO, Praveen continues to feed his curiosity by exploring new areas of technology and scientific history.
