Behind every long marriage is a private story of
• hearts learning to listen to each other, slowly and imperfectly;
• discovering what it means to live for oneself and with another;
• the lessons life reveals only through companionship;
• finding meaning in togetherness, one season at a time.
This memoir opens the door to ours.
Over the years, a metaphor for our marriage began to be visualised: two icebergs floating side by side. When two people fall in love, what is seen above the water are the similarities that draw them together. But once life is shared, the submerged parts begin to be revealed - the differences that were always present but unseen, conflicts acting as the “global warming”.
This is not a grand adventure or a tale of dramatic victories, but the quieter story of a couple learning how to live, love, argue, rebuild, forgive, and grow
- again and again.
Not a story of perfection, but of partnership with all its complexities.
