English, despite being just a language like Tamil, makes many Tamils (particularly from the rural areas) jitter because they think that it is the language of the urban elite and the symbol of modernity but beyond their ways and means. It is simply a myth, and they just miss good English as they don’t get the right opportunity to learn, understand and use English just like Tamil. This book recreates the required learning environment that facilitates such Tamils to learn and use English confidently like Tamil, and finally catch up with the urban elite.

The author of the book, though educated with two master degrees, M.Com., and M.C.A. from reputed institutions, was no different from most of the Tamils in terms of English and would once jitter in front of the urban elite. However, Mr. V. P.
