Forever excited to know how we have developed languages and made them institutionalized, so that we all can communicate our feelings, expressions and emotions in a way that is comprehensible. I Wondered more to see the visual language serving the information and entertainment needs of the humans. Visuals in the age of information have always been interesting in the way they communicate complex concepts in a subtle means. To make the best of visuals, it is elemental to understand the dynamics of visuals. A study on how the visual is conceptualized and produced meanings is the need of the hour.
This work is a result of an effort to relate the linguistic concepts to the visual language aka universal language. A collection of semiotic concepts are discussed in this work. Key excerpts from Jared Mason Diamond, Eric John Ernest Hobsbawm, Marshal McLuhan, Manuel Castells Olivan, Jean Piaget, Ferdinand De Saussure, C S Peirce, Bharatamuni, Valmiki, Charles W Morris, Roland Barthes, Umberto Eco, Basil Bernstein, Vladimir Propp, Jonathan Culler, Erving Goffman are preserved in this work. This work will introduce you to the tools and techniques for visual analysis, particularly semiotic analysis.

He calls himself a cinephile. Vidyasagar Kattula holds a dual degree in Visual Communication and Journalism & Mass Communication from Loyola College, Andhra Pradesh, India. With over 12 years of working experience in academics, media, and entertainment industry, currently teaching graduates in the discipline of visual communication and filmmaking. He teaches tools for visual analysis and film appreciation. He is instrumental in introducing new media programs at various institutions of state repute.
