Dr. C. K. S. Pillai worked as a scientist at the National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science & Technology (a CSIR Laboratory) at Thiruvananthapuram, India. He got interested in the Bhagavad Gita because the Gita provides the threshold for a fundamental revolution in worldview that promises to bridge scientific beliefs with spirituality. His academic background: PhD (1971-74), Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Awards: Gold Medal of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), 1985, NRDC Independence Day Invention Award, 1985, MRSI (Materials Research Society) Award, 2003. The US based Stanford University has recently released a list that represents the top 2% among Scientists that includes the author.
