As a mariner, I had the chance to read lots of books especially while away sailing on ship I was invariably commanding. This was mainly for the benefit of our growing boys. With due consideration fiction went overboard and facts and allied matters were firmly aboard. This presentation of the facts of various hues and time is my selective read of over half a century. Reading is a pleasure and sharing it with others is sheer pleasure. All this was mainly gleamed out of books (mostly olds) from British Council library at Kolkata and New Delhi. My thanks. It is also a Collection you can read in any order. You may pick it up from any page, go back or forward to any other pages of interest. It may bring a different level of awareness or appreciation to the incident of interest. In recent years we happened to see a significant rise in publication of fiction and allied books for many young writers, it is perhaps attributed to computers and recently Induced AI ( artificial intelligence). Good luck. For sheer appreciation reading is no less important then writing. May be you would consider putting the long time reader at par with modern writers.

During his service tenure Capt. R.K. Mehta was a senior commander of ships. He was also a “Hooghly Pilot” and Senior Hydrographer at the Port of Calcutta in India His earlier book “ Fact not Fiction” was published in 2004 . His efforts continue to entertain and educate the new generation.
