Mithila is a geographical and cultural region located in the Indian subcontinent. It comprises certain parts of Bihar of India and adjoining districts of the eastern Terai of Nepal.
We knew how and why Mithila region has always been a source of pride for all Biharis living in the state or outside, but what is new is, be it Mithila painting or preserving heritage such as aripan (a variation of Rangoli) and murals, or making books available to all and sundry, or helping and encouraging the have-nots through myriad awards and recognition instituted recently, the people of Mithilanchal, whether in Bihar or outside, are doing everything to give back to the society.
