Nagabhushana Rao Sanakkayala
Dr S Nagabhushana Rao (born – 1943) is a graduate Civil Engineer, Post Graduate in Structural Engineering and awarded Ph.D by N.I.T (Warangal). He had 35 years of field experience in Construction area and shifted to teaching and training the Civil and Transportation Engineers. He was Professor and Head of the Department in School of Transportation (JNTU), Hyderabad.
Later took up as Director General, Engineering Staff College of India, a National Training Institute. Established methods of quality training to Engineers. Having started his education with a Diploma in Civil Engineering, raised to Doctorate by dint of hard work and determination. Dr Rao is a self-made man, according to his well-wishers.
His service in APSRTC is notable in providing amenities to the Bus Passengers. The biggest Bus Terminal in Asia, the Imlibun Bus Station, Hyderabad was constructed under his direction as Chief Engineer.
He has developed the Engineering Staff College of India, a premier training institute and established remarkable systems to impart quality training to engineers, technical teachers and Researchers. Thousands of them are given quality training. During his tenure as Director General, Golden Peacock Award was given three times adjudging as Best Training Institute. Dr Rao is a versatile engineer having expertise in execution, teaching and training. He is a fellow of many organizations like Institution of Engineers (India), Indian Road Congress, Indian Geotechnical Society, Indian Concrete Institute, Indian Institute of Technical Arbitrators, American Society of Civil Engineers. Visited many countries and is a guest faculty to many Universities in India, USA, Australia, Malaysia and Singapore. Presently he is rendering service as a Consultant and Arbitrator.
