Jeet Singh Rathore is a lyricist and a music composer. He grew up in a small district in India and was a practicing lawyer before shifting to music. His practice of law at the Delhi High Court brought to his notice some heart-wrenching cases about workplace harassment, rape and molestation where the rapists could never be prosecuted. Later in his career, he also found that some cases never even had the chance to be presented in front of the law of the country.
When he stepped into the world of music, quite restless and unsatisfied with his singing career, he started to work as a music director for multiple Indian reality shows and as a lyricist. This brought him close to the glamour industry in Mumbai. He found that the world of glamour is not the same inside as it looks from the outside. What goes on behind the bright lights, the shimmer and the designs is darker beyond one’s imagination. Some men and women are shamed or their dignity is snatched away from them in the name of ambition and effortless success. His efforts to get a deeper understanding of the issue encountered by women in this interwoven industry urged him to write this book and send a strong message to the young generation of the country.
