R. Premkumar hails from the Nilgiris. Adventuring into the sholas, treading into the pine forests, climbing the hills, and sauntering into the long winding muddy trails were his favourite pastimes. He had his early education in Breeks and Kendriya Vidyalaya, Indunagar, Ooty. He is an alumnus of Madras Christian College, Chennai. He is an athlete, poet, educationist, elephant enthusiast, and motivational speaker. His work has taken him across the country, including the Northeast.
He is presently the Principal of JNV Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka. This anthology of short stories, Puffs and Pachyderms, is his second book.
