In the contemporary world of Odia literature, Iswar Chandra Nayak is not only popular as a Novelist and Columnist in the native state but also he is well known for his contributions in the field of contemporary issue related books in English, Engineering academic books, Science academic books and Traditional knowledge books.
He is a bilingual author and hails from a country village BANGURUSH PATNA, NIMAPARA about 27 kilometers from Bhubaneswar, the state capital of Odisha, India and presently working as a teacher.
His professional qualifications are D. H. Tech from IIHT, Varanasi (UP)-1992, B.E (Textile) from IEI, Kolkata-2005, M. Tech (Textile Technology) from PSG college of Technology, Coimbatore-2009, B. Ed. from IGNOU-2011. As a dignified teacher, he has been awarded by the State Government and honored by a number of prestigious institutions of the state. So far a total of sixteen numbers of books have been come out of his pen out of which PAAPA, GHRUNA and PRAHELIKA are three Odia novels and DAHRAJATRA an Odia book about the journey of Life in mother’s womb. His contemporary issue based book Enjoy Your Old Age has already gathered readers’ praise. Two Textile Engineering academic books, Construction of Woven Textile Designs, Designing of Jacquard Woven Textiles of Panipat, India and a book on traditional knowledge Weaving technique of a traditional Door Screen of India has been published internationally. In the translated literature, he has translated the English book Effective Parenting of writer Ramender Kumar into Odia language as Pilanka Phalaprada Lalanpalana and self-penned Odia novel PAAPA into English language as THE SIN. Nationally published books A Practical book to usage of Jacquard in Textile designing and Weaves in Textile are his novel contributions.
Apart from all these creations, he is popular as a Columnist in the state. In the famous Odia newspapers of Odisha, for his contemporary issue based and philosophical articles, he is very much loved by the readers. Besides all these, a number of articles and stories have found their places in various magazines of state and national level
