Praveen Arora
Praveen Arora is an engineering professional, a SCADA and Communication Expert, with vast experience with engineering and consultancy organizations on industrial projects in India as well as International locations. He graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India (the then University of Roorkee) with specialization in Servomechanism and Control Systems. He is a graduate member of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), the membership having been attained by virtue of working with Department of Telecommunication, Government of India.
Praveen spent major part of his career with MECON Limited, Ranchi (India), a reputed multi-disciplinary consultancy, design, engineering and contracting organization. His functional areas of expertise include SCADA, Telecommunication and other Low Voltage Systems for industrial projects in Power, Water, and other industries. He was responsible for all project related activities in his areas of specialization. In his 30 years of working with MECON he acquired extensive knowledge and experience on SCADA and Telecommunication projects in varied sectors.
During the tenure with MECON, Praveen Arora got an opportunity for an advanced training in “Optimization and Dispatcher Control System of Energy Facilities using Computer Techniques” at Gipromez Institute, Moscow (USSR). This training in the specialized discipline helped him advance his career in working on SCADA projects. He was also deputed by MECON to Nigeria for a period of more than two years to work as consultant on a project in steel industry. This deputation provided him an opportunity to work with international contractors and active involvement in erection, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
Post retirement he worked as SCADA, Automation and Communication expert and also as project manager on a number of projects in Power and Water sectors that included various ADB funded projects in India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal. Praveen also worked on a Smart City Project in Udaipur (India) where his role included design and engineering of SCADA and Instrumentation systems for power distribution network, electrical substations, water supply and sewerage facilities. Till date Praveen is actively involved in rendering his services as Electrical, SCADA & Instrumentation expert for water treatment projects in Nepal.
