Song of the Monk

Author Name: Rohit Dey | Format: Paperback | Genre : Philosophy | Other Details

"Spirituality does not teach one to walk a million miles, but it only guides one to take the first step."

The quest to seek answers and know the unknown has led the author of this book to embark on a journey that has traversed through a lot of sources that had earlier attempted to do the same. The book does not propose anything new but tries to interpret and present the essence of ancient Indian knowledge about life and existence in very simple words. The sole purpose of this endeavor is to emphasize the fact that spirituality is not an end that is to be achieved or practiced towards the end of life, but rather an approach that can make the entire life beautiful if one can aspire to such an awakening as early in life as possible.

The primary focus of this book is to gain a basic understanding of the Works of Swami Vivekananda and the concepts of of Karma Yoga in "The Way of
Action" chapter, Bhakti Yoga in the "The Way of Love" chapter, Jnana
Yoga in the "The Way of Knowledge" chapter, and Raja Yoga in the "The
Way of Meditation" chapter. The book is also inspired by the online video lectures, speeches, and podcasts by Swami Sarvapriyananda, Swami Samarpanananda, and other monks of the Ramakrishna order on related topics.
