Mr. Jothish Kumar was born on 15th August 1965 at Trivandrum, Kerala. Throughout, his studies were with scholarships and he received a number of merit awards. Graduating in Mechanical Engineering he did PGDBA from ‘Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship’, Bangalore. In 1988, he started his career as ‘Sales Engineer’ and today is among the leading marketing professionals in the country. In his professional career he received ‘The Best Marketing Engineer’ award for three consecutive years, 1988-91. He was also conferred ‘The Best Branch Manager’ award four times from 1995-99. Besides he received much recognition for his marketing excellence from various quarters.
He must probably be the youngest in the industry to have been nominated to the posts like Branch Manager, DGM, General Manager and Vice President-Marketing. He is at present working as ‘Senior Vice President’ in Havells Sylvania Europe Limited, a part of Havells Group with USD 1.20 Billion turnover across the globe . His was the key contribution to the team that took Havells Group from Rs. 200 crores to 6500 crores in just 10 years and also made it the most sought after brand in the country.
He is leading the Group’s business in Europe and Middle East, based at London, covering 27 countries with a team of 1100 professionals and steering the company to further growth.
Training is his passion and he started the organization ‘J K Human Development Systems’ and has done several programs in India and abroad. He has conducted several programs for Industries, Banks, and Management Institutes. He was honored as the ‘Best Marketing Professional’ in 2010 by ‘Times of India’, the largest circulating daily in India.
He is the author of the famous book ‘Ask Why?…Think Why Not?’. He has also written many articles for several journals and magazines. He is on the boards of interviewers of several organizations and is also advisor to several Industries.
