SNEAK PEEK
‘I am ali…veee. Oh, My God! I. Am. Alive.’ I wanted to shout out loud.
I was under the impression I was yelling my lungs out loud. But it took a few seconds for me to realize it was all in my head. Not a single word was coming out of my mouth.
Suddenly, my soul started filling up with hope.
I was growing impatient as I heard her footsteps getting a lot closer.
I saw a beautiful face partially covered with her curly long hair as she bent to take a peep. She was checking for the survivors from the other end of our crashed car. I felt my heart skip a beat. The second, I laid my eyes on her, my visual remained frozen in her pretty interesting curls.
‘The most beautiful curls ever.’.

Jereen Susan John Renjen
Jereen Susan John Renjen born in 1986 (from Perumbavoor, India), is a self-taught artist, designer, and an ex-vocational instructor for special needs children.
Being dyslexic, she had no other choice than adapting to the typical educational system. During her childhood, she ended up rebelling away from the world of words. Art was her comfort zone and with time it led her to evolve her style into Lineism- ‘art defined with lines’. When she accidentally discovered her ability in print inverted (PI*) reading technique, she slowly started exploring and understanding the words. It is still a daily struggle for her to create a balance between her unique way of decoding with the rules of the reality regardless of the language.
*PI- Print Inverted Reading is the ability to make sense out of text when viewed upside-down and backwards. To some extent, all good readers can do this if they try, but for many visual dyslexics, it is the only way they can make sense out of the printed text.
