Lt Col S V Sundar
Lt Col S V Sundar is a veteran of the Indian Army. He considers his experience in the Siachen Glacier, the highest battleground in the world, as the highlight of his career. Post retirement, he had taken up assignments as Dean Academics, Institute of Cost Accountants and later as Addl Director, Army Welfare Education Society at Chennai.
Now, fully retired, he is an active member of the NGO ‘Colours of Glory’ whose mission is to promote awareness of India's proud military heritage. His blogs and talks are available on the COG website and have been well received.
Alcohol dependent at one stage in life for a brief period after his retirement, the author has also experimented with most mind-altering drugs except Heroin. He describes these experiences as the agony and the ecstasy. Totally clean now, as he intends to remain, he gets his daily fix from his meditation and his highs from his travels. He travels frequently to his abode in the hills at Yelagiri and to the Himalayas to escape the urban chaos of Chennai. His travels in the mountains resulted in moments of extraordinary stillness and solitude which became the wellspring of ideas for his book. The preface explains as to how this debut book came to be.
