Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalThis book is a compilation of images photographed under the common theme of "Daring to dream despite poverty in India." With 18 images from 10 different states, this book aims to throw light on the struggles of various families in rural India be it in their personal life, professional life while fighting the norms dictated by society. Having lived in India for seventeen years, Riya finds this project to be very close to my heart. She decided to share these selected images because although we live in cosmopolitan cities, it is necessary for us to acknowledge our privilege and be aware of the different hardships people have to go through on a day to day basis. It is vital that we, as a society, amplify the voices of those who are unheard, and to encourage open-mindedness and education about the community in need, where basic resources are scarce. The photography included within this book, hopes to depict these stories in ways that words will never be able to.
