Dr. Prabhan C Mathew
Prabhan C Mathew has been in the forefront of family life education for more than three decades in India along with his wife Ciby Mathew, a trained Psychologist. Trained as a researcher in family life, Prabhan has received two doctorates from the US and from India. As a couple, they teach, train and counsel families.
After his short stint in the IT industry, troubled by the broken homes of his own friends, along with his wife, he felt a deep need to build awareness of building strong homes. They hold the view that strong families make a strong nation. Seeing the need they started several initiatives such as family life seminars, couple counselling, life skills for teens, and family life education in urban slums as well. Their seminars in corporate companies have been received with much enthusiasm.
Their counselling programme ‘Home Shanti’ (homeshanti.org) along with their dedicated team of qualified counsellors has helped many families find peace and restoration. They have also established an academic wing UIM-Family Research Training Institute (uimfrti.org) to empower many educators and therapists in the field of family life.
As parents of three grown-up children, they have put their theory into practice by making their home a joyful place of love and peace. Many of their own experiences along the journey is what is captured in this book.
