Walking with Your Child

Author Name: Seema Dhall | Format: Paperback | Genre : Families & Relationships | Other Details

First-time author, Seema Dhall, a mother of two and a teacher to thousands of children, offers her insight into how to raise happy, well-adjusted, responsible and morally conscious children in this day and age where most families are nuclear and both parents work, leaving little time for extremely busy parents to effectively raise their young ones. She elaborates on how parents can meet the physical, emotional, developmental and social needs of their children at different stages of their childhood. She offers tips on how to raise an aggressive child, a strong-willed child and a sensitive child.

How do you nurture and mould early-age emotions productively? How do you resolve the dilemma of traditional versus the modern ethos of parenting? How do you establish control, without nagging, anger, threats or power struggles, especially during the teenage years? How do you protect your children from the dangers of social media?

All these and many more questions are answered diligently, based on her firsthand experience and tried and tested methods. Walking With Your Child is a compelling read as she intersperses her writing with little anecdotes and stories that illustrate a particular moral or value, which parents can share with their children.

Seema Dhall

A homemaker with two children, a son and a daughter, and a teaching experience of 16 years, Seema Dhall’s experiences as a mother and a teacher have helped her in writing this book.

Seema’s son is a mechanical engineering graduate from IIT, Delhi and also has an MBA from IIM, Kolkata. His wife is a BTech graduate in Fashion Technology from NIFT, Hyderabad. Seema’s daughter is a EEE graduate from KIIT, Bhubaneswar with an MBA from Narsee Monjee, Mumbai. Her husband works with Tata Steel.

Seema wanted to share her experiences with others, providing insight into her thoughts and ideas on parenting. She wanted to provide for the community, satisfying her own growth as an individual as well.

She couldn’t do that due to her husband’s frequent job transfers and her children. Once the children settled, she had ample time. In 2016, after her husband’s last transfer, she finally decided to take a break from teaching.

Through this book, Seema has tried to reinvent herself, and has also reached out to fellow individuals in overcoming their fears and taking up challenges both for themselves and their children.
