Mani Shankar has been taking keen interest in subjects of humanity for over three decades. Hailing from South India, he was brought up in different towns and has had exposure to inherent cultural life. He lived some portion of his childhood in Western India, where his father was a doctor in the Navy. He is now settled in Chennai with his family.
