The book is divided into three sections. The narratives weave between the eighteenth century and the twenty-first century, and the stories tie back to the title of the book.

Monica Lakhmana, an English honors from Stella Maris College, Madras University, is an industrious executive who gave up a 24-year-old corporate career with the Tata Group – a global enterprise, headquartered in India, comprising 30 companies across ten verticals – to focus on her not-for-profit organization. She has proficiency in operations, branding and product development. A Rotary scholar, she worked as a journalist and continues to write topical articles.
She is the co-founder of Suriyassa Eternal Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd. (Brand: Malaai) and the CEO of Monica Lakhmana Foundation. Sustainable development is at the heart of the foundation’s vision and across activities.
