Dr. P. Sasikumar is a scientist at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO, Trivandrum, Kerala. He pursued his B.E in Mechanical Engineering at K.S.Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode, Namakkal Dt., Tamil Nadu and completed M.E. at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He secured his doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai. He has earned several distinctions to his credit.
While he was a Postgraduate student, he bagged the Best Outgoing Student Award(2004). The Department of Space has adorned him with the Young Scientist Award in 2011. He also bagged the Innovative Thesis Award for his research work from Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) in 2016.
Besides being a successful scientist, Dr. Sasikumar is making his mark as a writer and a youth activist. He has ten books (in Tamil) to his credit. His writings reveal the inextricable ties between life and science. Therefore, they cater to the needs of children and youth populace. His books possess a magnetic appeal among readers. The rare candour, humour and the simplification of complex scientific facts lend a perennial grace to his writings.
Dr. R. Sheela Banu is an Associate Professor of English at Government Arts College, Salem-7, Tamil Nadu. She has authored a book of short stories entitled String of Pearls and translated a novel entitled Foul Humans. Besides her book on the Tamil literary icon Jayakanthan is published by the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. She has edited a book of poetry and has written and translated several poems for many magazines and journals.
She is the recipient of several prestigious awards for her creative contributions. Some of them include the Rock Pebbles Literary Prize (2015), Yasser Arafat Peace Prize (2019) and the Buriganga Award for Literature, Peace and Environment (2020).
