Frankincense oil is obtained from the dried sap of the Boswellia sacra tree which belongs to the countries including Oman, Yemen and the Horn of Africa. The resin of the juice is used as a material for the production of the oil, which is full of therapeutic effects.
There is a special process to extract the resin from the plants with the special tool. The pure frankincense oil is present in the silver and clear form and is musky and lemony in color. Frankincense oil is known for its use in aromatherapy. It has been found to be very helpful in reducing the anxiety and the pain and inflammation.
The main constituent present in frankincense essential oil is the ketone alcohol, terpenes, α and p pinene, depentene, camphene, phellandrene and many others. A complex of monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes is also present in the essential oil. This oil can be used in conjunction with many other important oils such as citrus oils, lemon and lavender oils and many others.
