The book, "My Visit to the Ruins of Vijayanagara Empire at Hampi" is about the ruins of a mighty empire which once existed and is considered as one great empire in the history of India especially South India, i.e., Vijayanagara Empire. The Vijayanagara Empire was a medieval Indian Empire that covered much of the region of South India, controlling the lands of the modern states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa and some parts of Telangana and Maharashtra.
Through this book, I have tried my level best to divert the attention of the people towards these wonderful structures which are in ruins now but once were magnificent and alluring structures, though it still fascinates a lot. This book is an attempt to describe the grandeur and beauty of the ancient monuments. I have tried to provide as much information as I can. It is also an attempt to make people aware about these wonderful monuments and the attention which they need for its perseverance and reconstruction.

Dr. Shamenaz is the Author, Co-author, Editor and Translator of 37 international books which includes short stories collections, poetry anthologies, literary articles & travelogues. Being a prolific writer, she holds a D. Phil. in English Literature from University of Allahabadi. She is currently teaching in Rajarshi Tandon Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Allahabad.
