The subject of Turbomachines and Pumps is an important one and is included in most Engineering syllabi of Indian Universities. This book contains notes unit wise for the course at VTU, along with question banks and worked out problems. Some papers from foreign universities are added for comparison.

The author has taught the subject at several colleges in the VTU system for a number of years. A graduate of Caltech, Pasadena, at DRDO he was in charge of a funded project involving the turbomachine design and completed it sucessfully, He has published in the Defence science Jouyrnal and other International Journals on various aspects like rotor dynamics, bearings and stability..
